Sew Much Fun Classes 2019


Mastery Class 3 (5, 7, 8 Series)

This is a continuation of the ongoing class presented by Maureen Naquin for new machine owners. Class topic will be decorative stitching, intro to combi mode (memory), pattern begin/end/extend/# of times.

Beginning Smocking Class with Susan Newsom

You will be instructed on beginning smocking by Susan Newsom. A pleated insert sample and floss will be provided for practice purposes before you smock your garment piece. There will be TWO 4 hour sessions beginning on Friday, March 22 from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and concluding on Friday March 29th from 10:30 a.m. 2:30 p.m. If necessary, class may be extended an additional hour.

If you are working on a project and would like to have fun and a little company doing it, stop by and join us for coffee and conversation. Assistance will be available if needed but please be aware this in not a one on one instruction or group class.

This class will focus on EMBROIDERY only.

Do you sometimes find yourself feeling like this when it comes to your computer? Worry no more! This class will cover what you need to know to manage your embroidery design collection whether you use a Mac or PC (Windows). You will learn to navigate the web to purchase and download new designs and fonts. You will learn to easily unzip your files (and be able to find them once they're unzipped), transfer designs to a USB stick and/or external hard drive (if you use one), and more. What To Bring To Class: -Laptop w/power cord -Working Mouse -USB stick -External Hard Drive (if you use one) -Note pad/pen

Join Mary Crocker every 2nd Saturday for tips and ideas on machine embroidery. Anyone may attend this class regardless of the type of embroidery machine you own. Most classes are lecture presentations.

Continuation of the series presented by Maureen Naquin. This class is for owners of B790 & B880 ONLY. You will learn how to do directional stitching using your BSR (Bernina Stitch Regulator) and getting the most from your stitch designer.

Learn the basic operation of your machine including setting your machine for your personal preferences. The class also will cover buttonholes, gathering over a cord, etc. This class if free to customers who purchased their machine at MY Sewing Shoppe. If you purchased your machine elsewhere a fee of $25 per class is required.

Karen Durst has the perfect mesh tote bag for you that can be used on the beach or for carrying all of your sewing supplies for classes. You will learn to make prairie points the quick and easy way and sew them onto the vinyl mesh without any fear. Karen will also cover tips on making french seams the easy way too!

RARE Science, Inc., a non-profit organization that helps find cures for kids with rare diseases. Join Dorothy Simoneaux and become a member of the RARE Bear Army of volunteers by making a one of a kind bear for a special one of a kind kid. Dorothy will instruct you on the specific guidelines used to make the bear. Your special Gifted Bear will have a serial number specifically made for a child. At the completion of the class the bears will be collected and shipped to RARE Science. You will need to purchase a Kit" ($17.95 which includes the pattern, specific ID tag/feet, fabric) if you do not already have a pattern from a previous class. If you already have the pattern from a previous class, you will only need to purchase the bear feet, tag and fabric. If you want to use fabric you already have, it MUST BE 100% quilting cotton fabric. No embellished fabric of any kind please!

This sewing camp is for boys and girls ages 7-14 years of age with little or previous sewing experience who are wanting to take their sewing interest to the next level.
