These large colorful circles are nothing more than 10-inch Grandmother's Fan blocks set into circles. You will make freezer paper templates in class (or use your favorite template material) and then learn to sew some curves, something that is not as hard as you might think!
This 6-week course is designed to help students develop the skills, muscle control and coordination needed for successful machine quilting, both straight-line and free motion. Day 1 will be basting and grid quilting a charity quilt (which will be provided). You will provide the batting and thread and donate the quilted quilt, binding is not necessary. Day 2 is ditch work, stabilizing, following a printed line on cheater cloth panel, loops and stipple. Day 3-5 is free motion on a doodle sandwich and doing different filler patterns. Day 6 is putting it all together so no machine is necessary, just bring pieced tops from home.
