Becky Allemand is a retired school teacher and an avid quilter.  Under Becky's watchful eye and guidance you will learn how to make a beautiful quilt with a finished size of 38" W x 44" L.  A fabric supply list will be available at MY Sewing Shoppe.  You will receive a 10% discount on class supplies purchased at MY Sewing Shoppe.

**The construction of the pillow (pictured with the quilt) will not be covered in the class.  Information will be available if you choose to make the pillow.  You will need 1yd of fabric, 19" x19" batting and a 16"x16" pillow form.

You will learn:
-how to prevent the "wobblies" in borders 
-an easy method for sewing on binding
-how to piece your quilt top by machine
-how to cut fabric using a rotary cutter 
-ironing tips and techniques

During the class you will decide if you want to take your top home and quilt it yourself using one of the following three methods-stitch in the ditch, stitch an X in the center of each square or the stippling method. Becky will also offer you the option of having her quilt it for you with a 25% discount on her longarm quilting service if you purchased your fabric at MY Sewing Shoppe. 

Bring To Class:
-Sewing machine in working order
-Bobbins
-Machine needles
-Presser feet-#57 (1/4" foot), #38 (piping foot/optional, used to attach binding to quilt), #50 (walking foot)
-Cutting mat (mats are available for use, limited )
-Rotary cutter with new blade
-6 1/2" by 12 1/2 " ruler or similar size
-Portable iron/ironing board (if you have them)
-Taylor's Chalk or marking pen
-Basic sewing supplies (pins, clips, scissors, ripper etc)
-Thread to match your fabric (Becky suggests you match outer border and binding since this area is where the thread will show)
