Intermediate Tatting Workshop



**Double stitch must be mastered to successfully attend this workshop**

Once you master the double stitch, this fun bookmark will help you expand your tatting skills.

Techniques covered in this workshop: rings and chains (reverse work), how to use a picot gauge, weaving in the tails, how to open a closed ring, adding in thread, and front side/ back side tatting.
**Optional**Tatting with Beads (attaching to picot & from ball)

Supplies Needed:
-Size thread of your choosing-5, 10, 20 (bring shuttle already wound)
*Picot gauge or crochet hook (if you have)
**Optional**Beads to match thread size


Materials Provided:
-Handouts on the techniques taught
-Picot gauge
-Crochet hook and scissors (to be returned after workshop)
**Threader for Beads if needed**

Must have a minimum of 2 participants to have the workshop. Maximum number of participant is 4.

Instructor Bio:
Christy Castille was inspired by her great grandmother's tatting shuttles and learned tatting at the age of nine. Many of her tatted items are inspired by vintage patterns. You can find Christy demonstrating at many folk life events or handmade shows. She proudly shares the history of tatting, teaches others how to shuttle tat, and encourages everyone to pass on their heritage to the next generation.
