Basic Machine Sewing

Do you have a sewing machine, but you've never sewn before and not sure where to begin? Or maybe you haven't sewn in a very long time and need a refresher course. Come and join us for a fun class and learn or re-learn sewing machine basics, general sewing lingo, and an understanding of fabrics. Simple projects will vary depending on your skill level. Great gifts for yourself or to give away.
In order to schedule this class a class minimum of 5 and maximum of 8 is required. If class minimum is not meet the class will be rescheduled.
We will cover:
-How to sew multiple seam allowances.
-How to use a rotary cutter correctly
-Various ways to finish fabric edges to prevent raveling.
-Tips & tricks on ironing and pressing. (Yes, there is a difference)
WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS:
-Sewing machine in good working order, power cord, foot control, owner's manual. You must know basic operations of your machine as this is not a machine owner's guide class.
-Fabric: 1/2 yd of 3-4 coordinating colors of light weight 100% cotton PREWASHED
-1 yd of Pellon 101 light weight fusible interfacing
-Coordinating thread for each fabric
-4 bobbins
-Size 75-80 Universal sewing machine needles
-Basic sewing supplies (fabric scissors, fabric snips, pins, seam ripper, point turner, water soluble marking pen/pencil)
-Quilting Ruler
