Sew a Little Love Bug
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and Moda has teamed up with Creativity Shell and are calling on quilt shops and sewists everywhere to sew for a cause. The Love Bug Project began as a result of a group of Girl Scouts who wanted to create a project that gave back to their community. Shelancia Daniel of Creativity Shell and Laurelei designed the Love Bugs as a fun project where the Girl Scouts made one for themselves and for a child in need. All Love Bugs will be donated to kids in the local community.
What to Bring:
- Sewing machine in good working order with all necessary parts
- Basic sewing supplies
- 5 fat quarters
- 1 yard of Rick Rack or bias tape
- Thread (white,gray,beige) and a contrast thread for decorative stitch on wings and head (spool of black)
- Rotary cutter or shears
- Small ruler (2 x 6 or what you have)
- Frixon heat erase pen or fabric marking pen
- Pattern and face features provided
- Snack/ Lunch
