September 15, 2016

As we  switch gears from summer to fall, we pause and reflect on all that has happened as a result of the recent flooding to so many of our friends and customers of MY Sewing Shoppe.  We've heard so many personal accounts of their tremendous loss of their homes and possessions that one has to wonder how will they overcome such an event. It is hard to imagine or even try to put into words what they are dealing with. Naturally we wanted to help those in need and started our own donation drive within our store.

Recently we were asked to do something even bigger and now MY Sewing Shoppe is participating in "The Bridge Over Troubled Waters" donation drive that is currently underway.  This drive is part of "The Quilt Guilds Collaborative Millennium Flood Relief For Quilters" and is being coordinated by Jo Paula Lantier of the River City Quilt Guild.

If you would like to make a donation (see list below)  you may drop your donation off during our business hours of Mon-Fri 10-5  and Sat 10-3.

Sewing Machines:  May be used but must be in good condition and fully operational.

Kits:  Must contain the entire fabric requirements as well as the pattern.  Fabric does not need to be cut.

Fabric: Must be clean, intact and in yard increments with tag indicating yardage.  Jelly rolls, fat quarter bundles, charm packs and layer cakes make great donations!

Thread:  Full spools preferred.

Rulers: Any size in good condition.

Books and Patterns: Any book, new or used (in good condition).  Patterns (new, unused).

Notions: Any

Again, you may drop off your donation during our business hours now through February 2017.  Any donation is deeply appreciated, so please, do what you can.  I'm sure there are a lot of UFO's out there waiting for a new home!

Til next time...
